Wind Farm SCADA Data Analysis
Modern wind turbines are equipped with condition monitoring device/system, which provides the information about the device to the supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) database. These devices/systems make use of data processing techniques/methods in order to detect and predict faults.
Since Wind farm owner should be able to have confidence in the performance of their wind turbine assets, Power Curve Tests are an important part of gaining this confidence. This phase involves the collection of the required wind data and power output data from an independent Power Measurement Panel in the wind turbine. The result can then be compared with the turbine manufacturer’s warranted power curve to detect any faults.
